How online payments, WhatsApp, email, and SMS connect to Feezy, and what to keep ready for payment KYC.
Feezy connects to the channels your institute already uses to collect fees and talk to students and parents (members and plans for a gym, tenants and rent for a PG). Almost everything works from day one. The one step that needs your input is payment verification, described below.
Online payments
Feezy comes with online payment collection built in. You do not need to sign up with a payment gateway yourself. Every transaction is processed by RBI-regulated, PCI-DSS compliant payment gateways, so card numbers and bank credentials are never stored on Feezy's servers, and Feezy never holds your money. Settlements are paid into your institute's own bank account, and the owner gets a WhatsApp message and an email receipt whenever a payout is recorded.
Once collections are enabled, every fee gets a permanent payment link and QR code branded with your institute's name and logo. Parents can pay by UPI or card, clear several fees in a single payment, and download a proper receipt, in tax-invoice format with GST details when your institute is registered for GST.
Payment KYC: what to prepare
Online collections switch on after a one-time verification, completed from the Payment KYC page in Settings.
- The page first asks for your business type, then lists exactly which documents you need. Many details are pre-filled from what Feezy already has on file.
- Keep your business, bank, and tax details handy, along with the documents the page lists for your business type. The bank account you provide is where settlements will land.
- Documents can be uploaded as PDF, JPG, or PNG files up to 5 MB each.
- After you submit, the form becomes read-only and a status shows Being Verified, then Collections Enabled. Any later change goes through the Feezy team.
- Uploaded documents stay private, viewable only by your institute's owner or admin and the Feezy team.
Until verification completes, your institute cannot receive online payments or send payment reminders. Staff can still record payments made by cash, cheque, bank transfer, or UPI manually from a student's page.
No setup is needed. All WhatsApp messages, including fee reminders, payment links, and payment confirmations, are sent from Feezy's official WhatsApp number. You do not need your own WhatsApp business account, and there is nothing to connect or verify.
A few things WhatsApp does for you automatically:
- Reminders bundle a family's unpaid fees into one message with a single payment link, and new institutes start with three ready-made reminders: a friendly nudge, a firm reminder, and a final notice.
- Parents get a payment confirmation on WhatsApp no matter how they paid, online or in cash.
- Parents and students can message Feezy's WhatsApp number themselves to see their fee details and get a Pay Now link for anything due. Unrecognised numbers receive a polite explanation and no fee information.
- Institute staff can link their own number once with a texted code, then use Feezy's assistant over WhatsApp to look things up, send reminders, or share a payment link.
Emails arrive in a clean, branded design and cover fee reminders, receipts, scheduled reports, approval requests to admins, and every billing email for your own Feezy subscription. Email templates can have their own subject line and a longer message body, with placeholders like the student's name or amount inserted in one click, and you can send a test email to yourself before rolling a template out. Emails do not use up message credits; only WhatsApp and SMS do.
SMS
SMS is not a reminder channel; reminders go out by WhatsApp and email only. SMS is still used for one-time login codes: parents and students log in with a code sent to their phone and can choose to receive it by WhatsApp or text message, with their choice remembered for next time.
Managing your channels
You can turn each channel, WhatsApp, email, SMS, and push, on or off for your institute from the Notifications area, which also holds your templates, a log of every message ever sent, and a Do Not Contact list for numbers and email addresses that should never receive messages. Parents can switch channels on or off and set quiet hours from their own profile.
